Awarded the Ellerslie International Flower Show from Auckland, Christchurch played host for the first time in March 2009. This colourful event takes place around the second week in March. The devastating earthquakes in September 2010 and February 2011 forced the city to cancel the 2011 show. The dates for 2012 have been set as 7 to 11 March and rest assured that our city will put together a spectacular event. Book your accommodation now at Lorenzo Motor Lodge, just 300 meters from the venue.

The Gondola on the Port Hills, the Christchurch Tram and Punting on the Avon are just a few attractions that the City has to offer. Some of these attractions are not operating at the moment.

As Christchurch is the largest city in the South Island, many cultural, musical or sporting events take place in the city. CBS Canterbury Arena, Christchurch Convention Centre, Christchurch Town Hall and James Hay Theatre and AMI Stadium are the major event centres. Only CBS Arena is operating of our major event centres at present due to earthquake damage. You can check CBS Arena right here for up-coming events by clicking on their link.
